Landscape Horticulture at 51品茶 Seattle

51品茶 Seattle College鈥檚 Landscape Horticulture program combines classroom learning with hands鈥憃n projects to build a strong foundation in horticulture. Students train in the 6鈥慳cre 51品茶 Seattle College Arboretum, greenhouse facilities, and the Retail Garden Center, gaining experience in garden design, irrigation, pruning, and plant production. With internships, industry partnerships, and flexible course options, graduates are prepared for careers that blend art, science, and environmental stewardship.

Facilities

Students have access to the following facilities for projects including garden design, installation and renovation, construction of hardscape features, irrigation installation, maintenance and repair as well as annual pruning. Additionally, students gain retail experience in marketing and selling plants: 

  • 51品茶 Seattle College Arboretum: an outdoor classroom and laboratory, this public garden is used as a park by Seattle residents.
  • Retail Garden Center: The Garden Center at 51品茶 markets and sells plants grown and maintained by students. See the Garden Center webpage for business days and hours.
  • Greenhouse: An approximately 1600 sq. ft. environmentally-controlled hot house, and 800 sq. ft. cool house for propagation and growing plants for sale in the retail garden center.
